As an inner circle member of the Women Connect online membership club, I contribute content on a monthly basis, along with an accomplished group of ladies, with each of us being focused on our area of expertise. So, I was delighted to submit an article for this February issue on the topic of Self Love, and how you can discover it with the amazing gift of the camera!
Ann, who is the editor-in-chief of the magazine, had asked for accompanying images from her contributors, featuring us specifically wearing red to align with the Valentine theme. I happened to have an iPhone pic (below left) that I’d snapped spontaneously at sunset during a random, wind-swept moment in a parking lot, because I was inspired by the golden evening light.
As you can see, the pic is quite out of focus and low res, but it does capture a lovely feeling. Ann really liked it and asked if I had any sharper photos in red, as she’d love to put an image of me on the magazine cover. I didn’t have any others, so asked Dave to shoot some for me, which we did in front of the feature wall in our living room, including the pic below on the right.
We wouldn’t have thought to use a fan, except for having that first pic as a reference, and it was distinct how that lifted the photos instantly to another level of movement and mood. This is one example of how you can find inspiration from existing images to add vibrance and life to your own portfolio. Do you have dreams of being featured on a magazine cover?
