If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’ll likely know that I’ve been very happily married for decades and that Dave is absolutely central to my personal and business life. So, I was delighted to be invited to share our love story on Emily Smith’s beautiful blog, The Best of This Life!

Heartfelt thanks to her for this wonderful opportunity and reason to write our story down, which was tricky to summarise in relatively few words! Here’s a link to the article, if you fancy a behind-the-scenes peek: The Wind Beneath My Wings: A Love Story. We hope you enjoy it 😀

It’s particularly special to share this now as we’ll be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this month. We’ve worked together for most of our marriage, including starting our joint photography and videography business Outdoor Video & Photographic in January 2001, inspired in part by our shared passion for wildlife and the African bush, where the photo below was taken.

Emily and her gorgeous family live in Canada, and it’s been a treat to connect with her through Instagram, where she shares fabulous posts that celebrate everyday pleasures and the special things in life that bring meaning and joy on a daily basis. If that lights you up too, then be sure to follow Emily on Instagram and browse her blog at The Best of This Life. You will love it!

When it comes to personal branding and successfully connecting with like-minded people who share your interests and values, being authentic and posting photos and videos that incorporate glimpses into your personal life goes a long way towards developing relationships online, as Emily and I have done, leading to this lovely guest post opportunity on her blog.

Have you considered how your social media content connects with your audience and opens doors to potential friendships and partnerships around the world? The key is to simply be YOU and have a whole lot of fun in the process! If you have any questions about photos or videos or need guidance with your personal branding, please get in touch. I’d love to help.
