It took me years to truly appreciate reasons to celebrate, including the everyday reason that we’re alive on this beautiful planet. Now I do, and today I’m talking about special occasions, since my mother and mother-in-law celebrated their birthdays during the past few days.

This year I missed being in Cape Town with my Mom and twin sister Ruth, so above is a pic from last year (#photocred to Ruth’s gorgeous daughter Jo, who is also my god-daughter). And here are some of our family and friends, celebrating Dave’s Mom’s birthday on Sunday:

It was a festive weekend all-round, reminding me of the value of special family photos. When last did you invest in a family photo shoot? The reason I ask is because typically our clients who come to us for family shoots are so delighted with their results and so grateful for finally getting it done, that they often question why it’s taken them so long to do it.

Time flies when we’re having fun, and before we know it, years slip by. My suggestion if you’re contemplating any photo or video shoot is to act the moment you feel the nudge to do it. Intuition is true and there is alchemy in action. It’s also a safeguard against regret.

“Life is short . . . Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by
the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did . . .”
– Mark Twain

I wish you beautiful memories, along with an equally lovely visual legacy to savour. And why not leverage a fabulous family shoot by including a few individual photos that you can use to enhance your personal profiles? Pleasure and purpose can work wonderfully together.

P.S. Do you have any highlights or perhaps even regrets to share, which may inspire others to take action? If so, please leave a comment below. I’d love to connect with you 🙂

I have never responded to my beautiful wife’s blogs, but this morning I cant resist sharing how much I celebrate having an angel like Naomi as my wife and life partner.
I truly do not know where I would be in my life without the sincere and uplifting presence of such a special soul in my life. I am still learning to celebrate as often as I should, but I am getting better at it. It is mind boggling how much we have to celebrate and be grateful for when we take a little bit of quality time to contemplate how truly blessed we are to have all the incredible people, toys and lifestyle we enjoy, and to acknowledge the plight that most of the humans on this planet endure every day either due to poverty, abuse or bad relationships.
    Just Saying 🙂
